As with all reclaimed products, variation in size, depth and colour should be expected. Tiles may also show traces of ridges or mortar on the reverse side, which should be laid facing down. The thickness of the tiles typically ranges from approximately 1.5–3 cm, with dimensional tolerances of ± 2–3 mm, adding to their authentic reclaimed character.

During cutting and processing the tiles are sprayed with water and may therefore arrive slightly wet on site. They should be allowed to dry before installation. Once sealed, the surface will deepen in tone and continue to mature beautifully over time.

Due to the porous nature of this material, sealing is required before and after installation to protect the surface and assist with ongoing maintenance.

Authentic and rich in history, these reclaimed terracotta tiles are crafted from old roof tiles salvaged from derelict houses, factories and churches across Eastern Europe. Once reclaimed, they are carefully cleaned and prepared in Poland, ready to bring a truly unique and characterful finish to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Each tile displays a high level of variation, with rustic textures and natural colour tones ranging from soft beiges and sandy yellows through to warm burnt oranges and deep reds. Their irregular shapes, subtle bowing and weathered surfaces create the look of a beautifully aged floor, full of depth and heritage.

Ideal for kitchen floors and living spaces, reclaimed terracotta introduces warmth and authenticity that cannot be replicated by new materials. Once sealed, the surface colour deepens and develops further character over time, producing a floor that only improves with age and use.
